ATHOL WAYNE GRAY 1948 Only child born to Frank and Alma GRAY
Athol Wayne Gray married Joan Margaret Bray in 1971 at the Methodist Church (Uniting Church), Egan Street, Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. They had 3 children:-
1972 Brendon John Gray.
1976 Allyson Joy Gray.
1979 Rohan Paul Gray.
Athol and Joan met in 1969 but they knew of each other as they were both at High School at the same time and in the same year. It was known then as Eastern Goldfields High School. They also both played hockey. Both were born and raised in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, as were their 3 children.
Athol was very good at sport and excelled in football, hockey and in later years volunteer fire brigade. He had to make the choice between football and hockey after completing junior football and he chose hockey. He was picked in the state country hockey team touring Tasmania. In 1971 he won Champion Fireman in Fremantle at the State Volunteer Firebrigade championships twenty years after his father Frank Gray won the same title. Athol and his father are both Life Members of the South Kalgoorlie Volunteer Fire Brigade. They are also both Life Members of Mines Hockey Club.
BRENDON JOHN GRAY 1972
Brendon was born in Kalgoorlie in 1972. He attended Tupper street Kindy and then South Kalgoorlie Primary School until the age of 10 years. He then went to CBC (Christian Brothers College) which became John Paul College a couple of years later when CBC combined with the Catholic girls school Prendiville College. Brendon went on a skiing holiday to Mount Bulla whilst at school. Brendon played hockey from a very early age for Mines Hockey Club and has played in successful Grand Finals.

ALLYSON JOY GRAY 1976
Allyson was also born in Kalgoorlie in 1976. She attended East Kalgoorlie Kindy as a 4 year old and then South Kalgoorlie Pre Primary as a 5 year old. She then attended South Kalgoorlie Primary school until the year ending 1985. We moved from 71 Federal road where we had lived from 1972 to 23 Hawkins Street Kalgoorlie and Allyson then attended North Kalgoorlie Primary School for the last two years of primary school. She went to Japan with her school class mates and principal Jeff Smith at the end of her final year at North Kalgoorlie for a wonderful holiday. She attended Eastern Goldfields High School for years 8 to 10 then left school. Allyson loved to go roller skating, horse riding as a youngster and is quite arty.
ROHAN PAUL GRAY 1979
Rohan was born in Kalgoorlie in 1979, the year of the child. He attended South Kalgoorlie Pre Primary and then South Kalgoorlie Primary School for one year. He then attended North Kalgoorlie Primary School for years 2 to 7. He also went on a wonderful holiday to Japan with his class mates and principal Jeff Smith on completion of year 7. He won a competition and was kissed by a killer whale at Japan's Sea World. Rohan then went on to Eastern Goldfields Senior High School and completed years 8 to 12. Rohan also played hockey for Mines Hockey Club.
