Hello everyone and welcome to Term 2! This term in Pre Primary we are keeping busy learning new sounds and letters, numbers up to 20 and developing our comprehension through reading lots of great stories that Mrs Brown gets in to the library for us. The Kindergarten group have been learning about numbers up to 10 and doing lots of great counting, we have been getting really good at knowing our colours and the Kindy group tries hard to use their best speaking voice during air lessons and are becoming confident on-air speakers!
On Thursdays the K / PP / 1 group are kept busy learning music skills. So far we have heard lots of new songs and poems, we have bean practising to keep a steady beat, how to use our voice to make different sounds, and about high and low sounds. We are also learning the names of our percussion instruments in our music kits and how to play them. During the rest of the term we will learn about other elements of music such as loud and soft, fast and slow, long and short.
In our set work this term the K/PP group are learning about Australia, insects, communication, flight and frogs and reptiles. What a busy term!
We also have a new member in our class ‘Bilby’. She has joined our class to teach us about Australia and some of our endangered species. She is often up to adventures around the school and beyond. She has told me that she wants her own page on our website, so keep your eye out for when Bilby gets her own page.
Enjoy Term 2, that’s all for now
